MARY KINOSHITA
Consultant Media Director

Mary has over 35 years of experience in the local market, including six years at Myers Advertising, 19 years at Starr Seigle, and the past 10 years at Loomis-ISC, Inc. In addition, she is an on-going media consultant through her own company, Media Management Services, for clients such as Hawaii Dental Service and Cutter Automotive. As Media Director at Starr Siegel, she was involved with the Aloha United Way campaign (twice) and the East-West Center 25th Anniversary Directory. Her experience also includes planning and buying for political candidates including Governor Ariyoshi, Governor Waihee, Lt. Governor Cayetano, and Mayors Kusaka and Harris.

Career highlights include winning the Pepsi Effie award three times for
consistently buying broadcast media below national averages for ALPAC;
developing and selling a $2.3 million cooperative media plan for United
Airlines and 13 local advertisers; and planning media for Bank of Hawai‘i
which research showed consistently increased awareness over competitors spending like amounts of advertising dollars. She also did buying for 7-Up, Jack in the Box, and Suntory Restaurant.

The philosophy that she tries to convey to media reps is this: I do not buy
a station or publication because I like the rep. I buy because it makes
sense for the client. It's the only basis for buying."
