Dawn is the key strategic counselor to clients with regard to issue advocacy, leadership and crisis management. She writes frequently on issues percolating in the community and blogs at www.freecatholic808.com. She was a key player in the advancement of a civil unions bill which was enacted in 2011. She was also part of the team that helped ensure passage of Act 209, a bill that encourages companies to incorporate as sustainable business corporations (B Corp) with a commitment to the triple bottom line: people, planet and profits.

Dawn has held communications management positions at Esso and IBM in Malaysia and Hong Kong with responsibility for building functional expertise and implementing programs. She was Creative Director and co-founded the integrated services division of one of Malaysia’s leading PR and advertising agencies.

Dawn completed a Ph.D. in English at the University of Hawai‘i in 2008. Her dissertation focused on issues of race, nation and identity as reflected in life-writing in Malaysia. She graduated with a First Class Honors degree in English from the University of Malaya before earning a Master’s in American Literature at UCLA.

Over the last 8 years she has led the agency through its reinvention of itself as a team that provides communications counsel and services that go well beyond the reach of traditional advertising.
